Something New

I was watching the coveted rather pointless Maaco Las Vegas Bowl last night featuring the #7 team in the country, 11-1 Boise State, take on a dejected, unranked and less-than-mediocre 6-6 Arizona State team.

I won't get into how BSU got screwed yet again for being "that cute little school in Idaho with the blue turf." Nothing that I can say or post will change how the system (doesn't) work.

But as I was watching the Broncos run wild over the Sun Devils, I heard something from the referee that I've never heard before.

On two occasions there were flags on an ASU player that were announced as, "Unsporstmanship like conduct . . . defense . . . "

Never heard it referred to as "unsportsmanship like" before.

I'll just chalk it up to nerves on the part of the referee and hope he catches some good-natured ribbing from his friends.
