Trains

Apparently Metro Train (or something like that) from Australia has a new safety pitch:



In the words of Sgt. Phil Esterhaus from Hill Street Blues, "Let's be careful out there."

This is very clever. Most American safety messages are awfully "dry". They have one out now about "Keep You Hands Off of it" referring to cell phones.

We had an incident in Baltimore a few weeks ago where a trash truck drove directly into the path of a train. Caused an explosion that could be heard for 15 to 20 miles. Fortunately, the truck driver was hurt - not life threatening - but he claimed he didn't hear the train. Pardon? Four blasts on the whistle before a crossing, plus all the noise they make?
