Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is this coming Sunday (yes, it was intentionally planned between Championship Sunday and Super Bowl Sunday).

The lectionary calls for 1 Cor. 1:10-18 to be read:

I appeal to you that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose.  For it has been reported that there are quarrels among you.  Each of you says, "I belong to Paul," or "I belong to Apollos," or "I belong to Cephas," or "I belong to Christ."  Has Christ been divided?  Was Paul crucified for you?

I gotta wonder if the lectionary committee looked at this and said, "Yeah, that one would be a good one to read during Annual Meetings."
