Arrived at College Town yesterday just fine. Found our way to the necessary buildings without any help from staff or students (which annoyed me . . . but oh well). Got The Kid checked in, stocked up at Wal Mart and moved into her room.
Met the roommate and her parents, and they (the kids) seem to be getting along fabulously so far. She's on the third floor and suitemates include people from MT, CO and OR. I thought that maybe they were on the third floor because they were used to climbing hills/mountains.
We ate dinner at a decent Chinese buffet place, then it was back to the college for a keynote address by Dr. Kimberly Frazier from Auburn University. She threw a lot of information at the students, and at the end of her talk, I asked The Kid, "What's one thing you took away from that?"
"Time management."
That's a good sign.
After that, the parents went back to their hotels and the kids stayed at the college meeting with their respective orientation leaders.
We've got one more full day here with a full schedule ahead of us. Staff & faculty introductions, formal orientation, a slew of required sessions for the students, language placement, auditions and whatnot.
She's worried about time management. She has to make her way through the schedule and get this all figured out today.
She's going to be okay . . . right?

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
