I was going through my e-mails, getting caught up from being gone (I hate coming back from vacation), and looked at one I didn't want to deal with while on vacation.
Remember the issue with Online Public Yellow Pages? I was on TV and everything. It has apparently been resolved.
This e-mail I didn't want to deal with on vacation came from one Rebecca Papke at the Oregon Dept. of Justice. She must have had a word or two with the con artists and I received a very nice letter:
Dear Ms. Papke,
Online Public YELLOWPAGES takes each complaint very seriously and find ways to reach the best possible resolution while keeping our clients interests and our own in mind.
After review of the complaint and Rev. Ref's account with us, we have agreed to cancel this account and remove the charges that were on it. They will no longer be receiving any phone calls from our company.
We apologize for the misunderstanding and any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Davis
Public Relations Manager
That is the letter verbatim, including the bolded name (except they used my real name). And while a nice letter, because of the format, I can't help but wonder if this is a standard form letter they have in their files and just add in the name of the complainant in bold. Even so, we seem to be done with these people.
So, for the few of you who have commented on my original post about having to deal with OPYP, there is hope.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
