It's the end of the world as we know it . . .

The gospel reading for this upcoming Sunday comes from Mark's "little apocalypse."

When will the walls come tumbling down?  When will there be wars?  When will there be earthquakes and famines?  Tell us!  Inquiring minds want to know!

There's a sermon in there somewhere, but all I've got running through my mind is this:

and this:

But, since we don't do the big-screen thing at church, I sort of can't play these in the sanctuary (this is a good thing, actually).

There's also the mass hysteria from a vast contingent of Romney supporters who seem to be convinced that our recently re-elected Kenyan Socialist Muslim President (tm) will lead to the end of the world as we know it.

But, as Christians, aren't we supposed to be working for the coming of the kingdom of God?  And that kingdom is vastly different from what we experience now that, should it ever come to pass, it will mean the end of the world as we know it.

I just need to put those thoughts into some cogent format.

Oh, and I think I screwed up tonight's dinner. **sigh**

***Update:  I did not screw up dinner last night -- it was really good.
