I'M BUSY, BUSY, TERRIBLY BUSY . . .

Ah, Veggie Tales . . . gotta love 'em.

Today I am trying to bang out an article for the diocesan "newspaper." I say "newspaper" because a few years ago the diocese decided to get away from a printed hard copy (in order to save on the cost of postage [which just went up AGAIN] and paper, as well as a little eco-friendliness I think). Their newsletter is now totally online, and it has the catchy little name of The e-Vangel. You can follow my diocesan link and get yourself a copy.

Oh, right . . . I'm busy.

I'm finishing an article for the e-Vangel.

I've got two loads of laundry in the wash as I type with another one or two waiting in the wings.

I'm thinking about paying some bills.

I need to work on my sermon for this Sunday because I didn't get to it during the week (because, you know, I'm busy).

I need to drop off some toys at Kirk Engineering (more on that later).

And I need to drive to Helena today for the funeral of the former diocesan secretary.

Donna was a wonderful person. I'm not sure how long she actually worked for the diocese before retiring, but she was here when I got here, and she helped make this brand new priesty boys life not only tolerable but understandable. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and calming. I appreciated everything she did for me as I got settled into this new vocation.

I'm busy, busy, terribly busy . . . the rest of that line goes, "I've no time for you."

I'm busy, busy, terribly busy . . . but for Donna, I will make the time for you.

O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Donna. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
