Too much info for the subconscious

Like most every other Episcopalian, and maybe a few non-Episcopalians, I have been following the goings on at the House of Bishops meeting, the deposition of former bishop John David Schofield, and the possibility of deposition of Bishop Duncan.

If you've been paying attention,The Living Church brought up the issue of whether or not the canons were followed and whether or not the HOB had the necessary votes to depose Mr. Schofield. This whole mess has also been covered by Mark Harris and Fr. Jake.

All of that being said, this post isn't about my thoughts on the deposition, the legality or illegality of it, whether or not the HOB followed proper procedure or played fast and loose with the canons. This post is about the effects of this particular topic on my subconscious.

Last night I had a dream.

I dreamed that the HOB meeting had one of those lighted Frosty the Snowman yard decorations that they put out in front of their hotel before every meeting. But then, for whatever reason, someone forgot to bring the Frosty decoration to this most recent meeting. And because of that, because "every past meeting of the HOB has utilized the Frosty decoration to indicate when the HOB is in session and has now become a Tradition-Of-The-Church," the deposition of John David was overturned ... all because the HOB didn't have their traditional lighted Frosty at the meeting.

Just to be clear ... this only means that I've been reading too much about this case, not that I think his deposition should be overturned.
